Custom Carpentry

We will design and build custom built-ins, bookshelves and all types of molding including wainscoting and multiple layer crown molding. We are comfortable working with paint or stain-grade materials to ensure your project blends seamlessly with your existing home.

In addition to our custom woodwork, we can incorporate into your design audio visual components as well as hardware to ensure your needs are fully met.

Using various design elements, we can make the most use of your space to create a highly functional area without the clutter. Standard existing cabinetry can be retrofitted to accommodate such items as a stand-alone mixer, bread drawers or garbage can inserts within the cabinets so that you can maximize your countertop space.

If you would simply like to add space or detail, Distinctive Carpentry can match existing cabinetry along with moldings.

Distinctive Carpentry is certified by the Environmental Protection Agency as a certified renovator and will test the existing surfaces for the presence of lead paint before any project is started on a structure that was built before 1978. If lead paint is present, all work will be completed in accordance with the EPA’s Lead Renovation, Repair and Paint Rule. Following this procedure will add cost to your project but will protect not only the health of your children, yourself and the environment, but also will ensure that no delays are created due to EPA enforcement actions against code violations.

As with all of our projects, we will finish your job as per the original scheduled completion date. Upon final punch-list and inspections by township officials, your project will be complete. All workmanship is guaranteed for one year or when property is sold, whichever comes first.
